estefany, like epiphany.
Estefany Molina is a Latin American lens based artist living and working on the North Fork. You could say she’s been around the proverbial block many, many, many times. She’s got some street cred. She photographs in feeling and in stride drinking copious amounts of coffee along the way. For the last five years she has been developing ‘nightswimming,’ a photographic body work adapted as a multi sensory installation of the same name recently displayed at Matchbook Distilling Co.
In 2010, she completed a significant year long internship alongside the lead creative strategist of Next New Networks, an early online video start up bought by Google that same year growing into what is now their YouTube Creative Lab Space in Chelsea. She got to eat the fig newtons, and she learned many of the things. In 2013, she graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Photography, and shortly thereafter was published in AI-AP’s Latin American Fotografia’s annual in 2014. Since then she has contributed to publications such as Edible East End and Fast Company. You may have seen her work on a wall, in print, or on a screen. Or you may have attended one of her weird poetry slams, weird parties, or weird art things. In 2020, she began the #NorthForkBeachCleanUp at the height of the pandemic, an annual competition that has so far taken about 7,000+ lbs of beach debris off our beaches over the course of four annual sessions. She is currently the deputy marketing director at RGNY Wine.
She is a member of the Penumbra Foundation & Visionary Projects.
